The Embassy

The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Ouagadougou is Nigeria's diplomatic mission in Burkina Faso. It is one of the embassies, high commissions and consulates that make up the network of Nigerian missions abroad administered by the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja.

The Embassy represents the Federal Republic of Nigeria before the authorities of Burkina Faso, looks after the interests of Nigeria and of Nigerian citizens in the country, and works to keep the relationship between the two countries close and productive.

What the Embassy does

The work of an embassy is defined by the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961 and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963. In practice, the Embassy in Ouagadougou:

  • represents Nigeria and conducts its official dealings with the Government of Burkina Faso;
  • protects the interests of Nigerian citizens who live in, work in or travel through Burkina Faso, and assists them when they are in difficulty;
  • provides consular services, including assistance with travel documents and the authentication of documents;
  • gives information to people in Burkina Faso who wish to visit, study, work or do business in Nigeria;
  • follows developments in Burkina Faso and reports on them to the Government of Nigeria;
  • promotes economic, cultural and people-to-people ties between the two countries.

Head of Mission

The Embassy is headed by Ambassador Syndoph Endoni, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Burkina Faso, who presented his Letter of Credence in Ouagadougou in August 2026. Read the Ambassador's Word for his message to visitors of this website.
